SART is pleased to host the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (C3P) for a public learning session, Parenting in an Online World.

This session will be held on Wednesday, November 4 from 6:30-8pm YST. The session will be approximately 1 hour; with time for questions/discussion at the end. This will be an online session, but if you would like to join in-person, please reach out to Jonna at sart@yukon.ca.

Parenting in the Online World webinar is designed help parents, guardians, and other caring adults better understand the risks that children may encounter online and feel more confident having ongoing conversations about online safety, privacy, healthy relationships, and seeking help when needed. Using a practical framework known as the 3 Cs: Content, Contact, and Conduct, the session explores online risks in a way that remains relevant regardless of changing apps, platforms, or digital trends. Participants will also learn strategies for creating a safer online environment at home and learn about the services and resources available to support families when they need them.

The session will be led by Mia Kirbyson. Mia is an Education and Training Coordinator at the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (C3P), with a diverse background in education and supporting children, youth, and families. C3P is dedicated to reducing the incidence of missing and sexually exploited children through prevention, education, advocacy, and support services. It operates Cybertip.ca– Canada’s tipline to report the online sexual exploitation of children. Mia is passionate about supporting educators, professionals, and parents across Canada through training, professional development, and evidence-informed resources that promote child safety and well-being.
