In this episode of A Word About Mental Health, Bonnie Nish and Isabella Mori will read from their work, talk about writing and other expressive arts as a healing process, touch on the topic of recovery from mild brain injury, and, as always, invite participants to join in on the conversation.

Dr. Bonnie Nish is a certified Expressive Arts Therapist, educator, and writer with over 20 years of experience leading workshops across North America. She is Executive Director of Word Vancouver, and of Pandora’s Collective, one of BC’s longest-standing poetry societies. She teaches at UBC, and at the Vancouver Expressive Arts Therapy School. She is the editor of the anthology Concussion and Mild Brain Injury: Not Just Another Headline.

Isabella Mori. MEd, is a writer and retired counsellor. They write pretty much everything that’s not nailed down, from short to long fiction to poetry and non-fiction. They are the author of three books of and about poetry, as well as Believe Me, which combines stories, poems, interviews and research about mental health and addiction. For over ten years, they were the co-editor of Family Connections, a newsletter for people affected by mental health and addiction.
