Why take this hands-on workshop?

This workshop will provide information on Gastrointestinal (GIN) parasite lifecycle (internal worms) and how to implement integrated GIN management which may lead to preventing the development of anthelmintic (dewormer) resistance in herds and the reduction of GIN load in goats and on pasture. Along with potentially reducing environmental contamination by reducing anthelmintic (dewormer) use through integrated gastrointestinal parasite management. Which in turn may help producers save costs by increasing the animal’s health, welfare and production.

· GIN Resistance
· GIN Resilience
· Integrated parasite control
Five Point Check·
· FAMACHA scoring protocol
· Hands on scoring using FAMACHA protocol.

Certificate of Competition FAMACHA:

On completion of all requirements of the workshop participants will receive a FAMACHA certificate which will allow them to order the FAMACHA chart card from the American Consortium for Small Ruminant Parasite Control (ACSRPC).

FAMACHA Chart Card not included:

The FAMACHA chart card is NOT included in the workshop successful participants need to purchase a FAMACHA chart card separately through the ACSRPC. Information will be provided on where to order and the cost of the card at the workshop.
