Artful Futures: Climate Hope and Action ♡

A night of hope, art, zine, conversations, and more !

DOOR AT 6PM, START AT 6:30PM

The night will start off with a talk from Solacene and then some poetry readings from the artists who contributed to the zine. Following some inspiration, guests will have a chance to explore the rest of the themes through the rest of the art and conversation cards pasted around the venue.

The land we will meet on and the knowledge situated on it has been , belongs to, and is presently protected by many Indigenous peoples including the Kanien’kehá:ka of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Huron/Wendat, Abenaki, and Anishinaabeg nations. Beyond acknowledgement, we hope the topics discussed at this event can contribute to a greater understanding how Indigenous sovereignty connects to climate justice and hope. We are open to learning how these spaces can better be suited for such.

Une nuit d'espoir, d'art, de zine, de conversations, et plus encore !

La soirée débutera par un exposé de Solacene, suivi de lectures de poèmes par les artistes qui ont contribué au zine. Après avoir trouvé l'inspiration, les invités auront l'occasion d'explorer le reste des thèmes à travers les autres cartes d'art et de conversation collées dans la salle.

La terre sur laquelle nous nous réunirons et les connaissances qui s'y trouvent ont été, appartiennent et sont actuellement protégées par de nombreux peuples autochtones, notamment les Kanien'kehá:ka de la Confédération Haudenosaunee, les Hurons/Wendat, les Abénaquis et les Anishinaabeg. Au-delà de la reconnaissance, nous espérons que les sujets abordés lors de cet événement permettront de mieux comprendre comment la souveraineté autochtone est liée à la justice climatique et à l'espoir. Nous sommes ouverts à l'idée d'apprendre comment ces espaces peuvent être mieux adaptés à cette fin.
