Welcome to the Gold Thread Gala! Join us at Danceland for an unforgettable evening filled with art, music, connection and inspiration. This in-person event promises to be a night to remember, so dust off your best attire and get your tickets before they run out! We are all connected and this Gala is about just that, bringing together like-minded patrons of the arts to pass around delicious charcuterie boards, catered by The Lake House, to listen to the incredible live music of Zach Weston, to be inspired by thought provoking art installations and to check out Katy Martin's newest collection of large oil paintings, titled 'Docks & Daydreams.' Katy's last three solo-exhibitions sold out within 24 hours. This is her first collection showcasing the breathtaking landscape of Wasagaming. Don't miss your chance to take home an original!

Katy is an Artist, a published Author and an Educator. Katy has 7 exhibitions under her belt, of which, the last 3 solo shows sold out within 24hrs. She recently completed a collaborative commission for Maple Leaf Gardens permanent collection at Scotia Bank Arena in Toronto, and was an esteemed recipient of the Women of Distinction 2024 Awards for the Arts Culture and Design category hosted by the YWCA Brandon MB. Katy's work often carries themes of resiliency, nature and united social progression. Her focus is on contributing an immeasurable passion for the arts and her community, with an unwavering commitment to lifting the fallen and inspiring those who are standing still. Zach's roots in the Vancouver music scene were uprooted when he moved to Manitoba to pursue his passions and his music, but the laid back folk style that he learned out West has remained with him across Canada. Zach is an up and coming folk artist who combines covers and originals and uses music to relate to all stages in life. You can follow his career on IG @zachwstn

Proceeds from this event will be donated to the local non-profit Riding Mountain UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve (RMBR), one of 19 Biosphere Reserves in Canada. It is a special area within which people are encouraged to demonstrate better approaches to conservation and sustainable resource use. Our mission is to foster and encourage a sustainable community based regional economy, with high biodiversity, landscape, and social values, with Riding Mountain National Park of Canada as a key component.
