Mechanical keyboard meetups are gatherings where people who love custom keyboards come together to share their builds, try each other's setups, and talk shop.

Here's what to expect

Lots of keyboards to try. Attendees often bring their personal boards and lay them out on tables for everyone to type on. This is the best part for newcomers — you get to feel dozens of different switches, keycap profiles, and case designs side-by-side, which beats any online review.
A casual marketplace. People often sell or trade keycap sets, switches, cables, and sometimes whole boards.
Vendors and keyboard designers set up booths and raffles are common.
A friendly community. Much of the hobby lives online, so meetups are where people finally meet in person. Despite the gear on display, the vibe is welcoming and low-pressure.
If you're new, don't hesitate to go. You don't need an expensive build or deep knowledge to fit in. Showing up with or without a keyboard and some curiosity is enough. Most people are happy to let you try their boards and explain what you're feeling.
