💳Workshops are just $20 each, or $30 for both!

✊🏾In honour of Emancipation Day Black folx and Feed the Soul volunteers are free. Take home your creation and support Feed the Soul YEG.

We will be running two workshops between 5:00 - 7:00pm

· Workshop 1 (5:00—7:00pm ) you will be screen printing tea towels

· Workshop 2 (7:00 — 9:00pm ) you will be screen printing tote bags

Enjoy delicious Jamaican Patties, salad, and sorrel provided by Lloyd’s Patty Distro

What to Expect?

A Snap Gallery instructor will walk you through an interactive workshop where you will screen print tea towels and tote bags.

Why Emancipation Day?
To honor the freedom and resiliency of the black community and to mark the abolishment of slavery in Canada in 1876. This is a time to honor our ancestors and their legacy, reflect on all that we accomplished and the work we still have to do.

Consider donating to Justice for Mathios Arkangelo, an unarmed 28 year Black man who was murdered by an unnamed Edmonton Police Officer on July 29th 2024.

About the Screen Printing Workshops:
Screen printing is a fun and creative way to transfer designs onto fabric by pressing ink through a stenciled mesh screen. In our workshops, you'll learn the basics of screen printing while supporting a great cause. The first workshop will focus on making kitchen towels, and the second will be dedicated to creating tote bags. You'll get to take home one of your personalized creations from each workshop, making it a perfect keepsake or gift.

About Feed the Soul Dining Week:

Feed the Soul Dining Week is a city-wide event hosting 15+ restaurants, retail, home-based and online stores participating across Edmonton. Our goal is to display the city’s diverse Black-owned food scene and, present to Edmontonians, the positive influence the African Diaspora has on the culinary industry of the city.

Feed the Soul Dining Week was created by a team dedicated to promoting events and opportunities that provide safe spaces for local Black-owned businesses to grow within the larger Edmonton community. We accomplish this by designing a variety of channels and platforms to exhibit and support Black-owned businesses in our city.
